Many people go to church every week, but why? What’s the point of gathering together on a regular basis and why did Jesus establish the Church? In this Equip Class, we will discuss many different aspects of the church and consider why the church is not only a good thing for believers, but a necessary thing.

God commands Christians to actively “be holy,” but what does that look like in daily life? Rather than overwhelming legalism or loose boundaries, there is a meaningful and practical middle ground. We aren’t meant to wait for holiness―we’re meant to pursue it. This class will teach you how to do just that; grow in your walk with Christ and pursue holiness.

Note: Our FOUNDATION Equip Classes are meant to form, fortify, and frame your understanding of the Christian faith. What make us Christians and how are we to understand the Bible? Whether you’ve been a Christian for 10 minutes or half a century, what you believe about God influences how you live, interact with others, and where you spend your time. Let’s build our foundations strong so we can live with our confidence in Christ.

Prayer can be a struggle. Sometimes we don’t think it will make a difference, or we rely on ourselves, or we’re just too busy. And even if we do pray regularly, it can feel more like a duty than a delight.
This five week class, based on J.D. Greear’s book entitled Just Ask, will show us how prayer was a non-negotiable daily staple in Jesus’ life, more essential to him than eating or sleeping, and therefore why we need to pray as well. We will see how we can enjoy the same source of power as our Lord and the early church when we learn to “just ask” and depend on our heavenly Father as they did.
“Prayer is not a religious task to accomplish; it’s an invitation to lay your burdens down at Jesus’ feet, to share your heart with him, and to be with the one in whose presence is the fullness of joy and at whose right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16 v 11).” – J.D. Greear

All of us want to raise good kids! And we want to be good parents. But what exactly do we mean by “good?” And is “being good” really the point?
Rules are not the answer. What they need is grace. We must tell our kids of the grace-giving God who freely adopts rebels and transforms them into loving sons and daughters. If this is not the message your children hear, if you are just telling them to “be good,” then the gospel needs to transform your parenting too.
This class will show you how to receive the gospel afresh and give grace in abundance, helping your children know the dazzling love of Jesus and respond with heartfelt obedience.

Note: Our APPLICATION Equip Classes tend to be more topical, help-based studies that tackle what the Bible has to say about the struggles of daily life. How does the Bible impact parenting, marriage, overcoming sin struggles, navigating relationships with people, etc. Think practical application theology.
